Dirty Beaches is all parts Rockabilly / 60's pop / rock'n'roll / greaser chic / low-fi / echo rock and a little bit of something else i cant put my finger on.
Alex Zhahng Hungtai better known as Dirty Beaches i would describe as Elvis Presley meets Mr. Miagi. His pre recorded drum beats, muffled lyrics, and low fi recording techniques all help give Dirty Beaches a very unique dark sound you might find in a cabaret or murder film.
The next greatest thing in rock 'n' roll? Probably not, but I'm sure whoever is the next greatest thing will be influenced by Dirty Beaches.
